Things kicked off with our Northern artists at our Gangsters and Molls themed party at Vanita Studios in Manchester. It was a great evening of dancing and exciting costumes, with the best winning a prize. It was the first party Mad Dog 2020 has held for our Northern artists, with our books in this area expanding with the wealth of new dramas being filmed in the surrounding areas. It was great to finally meet so many of the artists we have had the pleasure of working with and putting on set this year.
Next up was our Cardiff office’s festive movie meet-up, which entailed a screening of one of our all-time favourite Christmas movies, Love Actually. Due to the number of comedies our Cardiff office has worked on this year the theme of the evening was festive fun and so everyone arrived in their best Christmas jumpers. After the screening there was a drinks reception in the BAFTA Cymru bar, where our Cardiff team decided on who had the winning jumper. Philomena’s great home-made effort pipped everyone else to the post to win a really special goodie bag donated by BAFTA Cymru.
Then last but by no means least, was our London Office’s party. This was also Gangsters and Moll themed to celebrate this year’s release of Legend, the Kray Twins drama starring Tom Hardy that Mad Dog 2020 provided supporting artists for. At Grace Bar in Piccadilly hundreds of our artists partied the night away with the added excitement of Michael McIntyre Magic. We were so impressed by the efforts of our artists with their fantastic themed costumes; you all looked like you had walked straight off off set! Congratulations also to the winners of the best dancers competition especially Helen Dee for her moves.
With all of the parties it was brilliant to see so many of our artists in person and to celebrate what has been another successful year for Mad Dog 2020 and the British Film and TV industries as a whole. Now we can begin to look forward to next year and putting even more dedicated artists on incredible productions around the UK.
